Tim Mee Fantasy Figures go Modern in Prime Time

Posted by TimMeeUSA .com on

The Tim Mee Legendary Battle Fantasy Figures started out life in the early 1980's as Marvel Activated Superheroes, were then retooled into He-Man wannabes, disappeared into obscurity, and were eventually resurrected as a Tim Mee Realistic Reissue in 2013. Now, more than 3 decades after their creation, the Tim Mee Fantasy Figures make a Prime Time appearance in the 3rd episode of Modern Family's 10th season on ABC. The episode is titled "A Sketchy Area".

There have been a number of Tim Mee TV and Movie sightings in over the years, but they have usually been fleeting, and often hard to make out. Not this time. Our favorite mystical warriors were on screen props for an entire scene with several of the main actors.

Our heroes are first shown carefully set up on the kitchen counter along with several other treats, waiting for Joe Pritchett (Jeremy Maguire) to come home from his first day of first grade:

The scene starts with Gloria Delgado-Pritchett (Sofia Vergara) and Alex Dunphy (Ariel Winter) both sharing screen time with these Legendary toys:

Jay Pritchett (Ed O'Neill) makes a quick appearance before Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) arrives lamenting a terrible day at work:

Gloria uses the treats laid out for Joe to help Clair feel better:

The 5 figures shown are from the 2016 reissue. Viking Hero, Super Sorcerer, and Secret Samurai Warrior are shown in bright green, while Bat-Wolfman, Skull-Sorcerer are rust brown. Saber Tooth Caveman didn't make an appearance, (I guess he was just wasn't modern enough):

The figures didn't get any lines or stunts, but were on screen for over 4 minutes.  At one point Gloria almost knocks over Viking Hero, and Bat-Wolfman is shown knocked over (but in the next shot he's back to standing up):

So what's next for the Legendary Battle Fantasy Figures? Will they have recurring roles? Will the absence of Saber Tooth Caveman ever be properly explained? Do they need to join the actor's union? Will there be any of those sweet syndication royalties? Tune in next time, same Bat-Wolfman time, same Bat-Wolfman channel to find out...
